We are a private website with educational articles and reviews. While we do not review the anti-fraud / anti-hacking technology behind any website, merchants who place our badge on their sites pledge to uphold the highest standards for their customers. The original Merchant Fraud Squad (not us) was founded in September of 2000 by American Express, ClearCommerce and Expedia with a clear focus on the education of online merchants on fraud prevention. In 2001, HP and ClearCommerce founded the Internet Fraud Round Table, to share best practices among a grassroots group of major online retailers. By the end of 2002, the Internet Fraud Round Table had grown to over 60 high-profile e-Commerce retailers and at the end of the year, the two groups teamed up to form the Merchant Risk Council. In 2010, the website relaunched under new management as a free platform for merchants to be heard. It has absolutely no relation to the original company.
